Guardians, students, entertainment industry professionals who have worked with Camilla Rubis

Bryson was struggling in middle school. He lacked confidence as a student as a result of ADHD and was bullied by his peers. Camilla was the only tutor Bryson had who could provide him with the confidence and the skills to be a successful student. She was able to connect with him emotionally and adjust her tutoring to his particular learning style, which are key ingredients to a positive tutor/student relationship. Most importantly, Camilla made Bryson accountable for his work effort and product. As a result of Camilla’s guidance, Bryson has excelled as a true student-athlete in high school. As Bryson enters his senior year in the fall of 2020, he has received offers to attend many top schools, including six Ivy League schools. I am so grateful for the wonderful guidance Camilla provided to Bryson which helped direct him to where he wanted to be.

I don’t think Camilla’s an excellent mentor because she cares. A lot of people care. Camilla cares and she’s about action. She’s about making things happen for her and the people around her. She’s dedicated to her craft, but not to the neglect of others. I’ve gleaned all of this as one artist observing another. Camilla is about balance and that’s how she succeeds. I’m a fan.

Camilla was amazing to work with and made such a positive impact on my daughter’s education. She provided her with clear expectations, regular check-ins between sessions, incredibly positive feedback and clear direction on any issues that needed to be improved upon. Our daughter needed an educational therapist to help her with her unique learning style and we were lucky to find Camilla. Not only did Camilla provide educational tools but she shared her life experiences as well in a way that resonated with a teen. Emma had every opportunity for a successful future due to Camilla’s guidance!”

Camilla’s genius as a writer is she knows story AND character, but what makes her special as a person is that she’s generous with her talent.

One of the best things about writing for Disney’s “Fast Layne” was being on staff with Camilla. She’s an amazing writer with a unique, authentic, funny voice and she’s delightful to brainstorm with. She’s also a super-savvy businesswoman who inspired me to really step up in my career, finances and personal life. I wish I’d met her when I was in high school! Or college, or when I first got to LA, or even ten years into my career — her insights, strategies and resources would have made a huge difference. I admire that she thinks globally and acts locally, she’s generous of spirit, she’s effusive and fun. She operates from a place of integrity and practicality. She knows how to plough through the discomfort that’s sometimes necessary for growth. She takes smart risks and she’s inspired me to do the same. She’s a fantastic resource for anyone pursuing a career in Entertainment or forging their own path. Fighting to make a difference is central to who she is. I hope her program is The Difference for you.

Camilla is a very kind person and she has inspired me through her work. When she informed me about this program I thought about how lucky people are going to be to work with her. Camilla has so much compassion, it can be seen in her work and the way she connects with people. I have been honored to know her, and it doesn’t take a lot to know she cares so much. She is tenacious, generous, inspirational, and cares about the youth. Camilla has certainly influenced me.

Since the quarantine started, my son, who was 5 years old at the time, started virtual learning and thankfully I had a chance to work from home. As a single mom, it was hard for me to juggle both my full time job and teach my son at the same time. I was looking for options on social media from other moms to see what helps them and somehow I stumbled on Camilla’s generous offer to tutor children via Zoom. After talking to her, she told me that she had never tutored anyone that young but she was willing to try. The next day she called us via Zoom and my son (and I) had an instant connection with her. She is very kind, patient, and most of all her positive energy beams through the screen. Her encouragement and “yes you can” approach definitely made my son look forward to school time with Ms. Camilla. Her kindness exceeded all our expectations when my son received a surprise package on his birthday from his favorite “teacher” Ms. Camilla. From the bottom of my heart, I highly recommend Camilla as a coach, as a mentor, or as a tutor. Your kid will be in amazing hands that genuinely love to help other people succeed beyond their limits. ♥

Camilla has inspired me in so many ways. One of them includes how she inspired me to get more into journalism and made me realize that so many things can come out of a few words. I’ve known Camilla for a few years now and I’ve learned that journalism is truly about self-expression. Another thing I’ve learned from her is that writing can be so fun when you really give thought into what you’re writing. I also think that she would be a great mentor for teens because she can teach us a lot about her work experience!
